With work and everything else, there just hasn't been enough time for me to read as much as I normally do and that means less reviews. This is why I've decided to take a break from blogging for a while. I want to catch up on my reading and write lots and lots of reviews so I won't have to leave you guys with only one blog post a week again. I'm not exactly sure when I'll be back but it's going to be somewhere in the new year. Be sure to sign up so you'll get an email when I come back with new reviews. Again, sorry for all of this.

See you all in 2014!

reasons I can't give this book 5 stars is because even though I enjoyed the

4 stars from me. It's a great book and I loved how Minkman makes you really

I love the Greek mythology that's going on in the story. I felt like there was
less of Lucas and Helen's family, which is too bad because Jerry cracks me up. The
whole underworld thing was kind of scary, especially the consequences it had
for Helen, but the presence of new hottie Orion made up for that. What I also
still adore about these books is Helen. She's such a badass and she's not even
at her full strength yet.

the fact that Daphne has the whole book to tell Lucas and Helen they're not
related, but she just doesn't tell them. What kind of a mother does that?? It's
really annoying and Angelini better make up for it in the third and final
book.

I read it for the read-a-thon so I finished it within a day, but even if I would've read it at any other time, I still would have been so addicted that couldn't do anything but read. In the beginning I didn't like that Helen was so incredibly shy that she even got cramps when people looked at her, so I'm glad that eventually you find out the reason for that. book started off strong. The flashbacks to how Cassie and Jon met and how
their relationship ended, I think that was my favorite part of the book. When
we came back to the present it wasn't what I expected. I wasn't drawn into the
book anymore but kept reading because I hoped it would get better. For me, not
enough happened in the present part of the book. I kept waiting for that Mark
to show up or something else exciting. And then all of a sudden the book ended.
It wasn't even an ending, it felt like I was in the middle of a chapter and
then boom. The end. Maybe Ward did this so you just have to buy the second
book, which worked on me, because now I have to read it, but I would have been
happier if she made an ending that makes more sense.

positive things too, Cassie for example. I love how she stayed true to her

this book more than 3,5 stars. Which I absolutely don't like to do, because I
adored Damaged 1 and 2.

hope we will see more of Rory. I always love badass female characters.

By now the whole world knows who are going to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey: Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam. So what I want to know is: what do you think of these two actors? Are they right for the role? Or should E.L. James have chosen two different actors? Because I heard she herself chose them. I'm very curious about your opinions, so don't hesitate to leave a comment.
First of all, I don't know either of them. Before they were cast for the Fifty Shades movie I'd never heard of them and therefore I have no idea how good their acting is. But based on their looks, I'd say Johnson could be a good Anastasia, if they dye her hair of course. Hunnam on the other hand, is a firm NO way, for me. I'm sure everybody has a different image of Christian Grey in their heads, and mine doesn't even come near the looks of this guy. Personally, I was rooting for Ian Somerhalder and Alexis Bledel. I was hugely disappointed when the news came out on monday that they chose two completely different actors.
I wánt to like him. I wánt to think he's sexy. So I can't wait until they start shooting the movie and the first images of Ana and Christian come out.
of humanity in the hands of a reluctant saviour and his band of fallen angels.
Seven deadly sins that must be righted. Seven souls that must be saved. While
his first task was success, Jim Heron is battling a demon that can take any
form for the soul of someone he must identify on his own. If that weren't
enough, his old boss Matthias wants Jim to assassinate an AWOL member of The
Firm - Isaac, the man Jim is pretty sure he is supposed to save. Jim knows
first hand that once you're in The Firm, there's no getting out. But when Jim
finds Isaac to warn him, he has been picked up by the police for illegal street
fighting, and it is clear that Isaac is falling for his gorgeous public

Sometimes, when visiting English blogs I read something about read-a-thons but I never actually participated in them. So this wasn't just The Netherlands' first read-a-thon, but also mine. Unfortunately, I had to work five days that week, four of them during the read-a-thon so I couldn't read all day. But during my spare time I made sure to spend as much time as I could with my books. So here are my personal results of the read-a-thon:

- I've read 5,23 books, one each day, from Monday 'till Friday and 23% of a book on saturday morning.
- I've read 1963 pages.
- I've read three Young Adults, one Woman's Fiction and one New Adult.
- I only gave one book 5 stars; the dutch version of Night Road by Kristin Hannah
- I gave the lowest rating (3 stars) to For You by Mimi strong

Now, I know I'm not the one who read the most book during the read-a-thon, but I'm very satisfied with my results. I'm happy I participated and I'm already looking forward to the next read-a-thon. Before last week I let other things get in the way of reading, but the read-a-thon gave me back my rhythm and my books are getting my full attention again!
Cassie Robichaud’s life is filled with regret and
loneliness after the sudden death of her husband. She waits tables at the
rundown Café Rose in New Orleans, and every night she heads home to her
solitary one-bedroom apartment. But when she discovers a notebook left behind
by a mysterious woman at the café, Cassie’s world is forever changed. The
notebook’s stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and
eventually lead her to S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T, an underground society dedicated to helping
women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies. Cassie soon
immerses herself in an electrifying journey through a series of ten rapturous
fantasies with gorgeous men who awaken and satisfy her like never before. As
she is set free from her inhibitions, she discovers a new confidence that
transforms her, giving her the courage to live passionately. Equal parts
enticing, liberating and emotionally powerful, S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T is a world where
fantasy becomes reality.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: This book is just about sex. Cassie is trying to find her courage, confidence etc, by having sex with a bunch of different guys. I hate to compare, but I'd hoped that, just like in Fifty Shades, sex would only be part of the book, but not the most important part. I wanted some romance, but there wasn't much of that unfortunately.

What I also didn't like about this book is that Cassie has no self-confidence at all, but when some guy who was sent to her to please her, tells her how beautiful she is, she believes it without a second thought. That's not how it works. Very unrealistic. Actually, I think most of this book is unrealistic. It's just too much. Things like this just don't happen. Now, I know it's fiction, but still.. Adeline could have made it a little bit more believable.

What the heck was that? I haven't read a book with such a crappy ending in a long time. The only reason I'm giving this book 2 stars instead of 1 is that part of why I didn't like this book was because of the vocabulary that was used, and I read the dutch version so I'm blaming the translators for that. I'm just going to assume the english version would have been slightly better.

Hope you all read lots and lots of books. But, we still have one day so we can still have some fun before it ends! I've got a nice challenge for all you Dutchies out there. Because this challenge is for people from the Netherlands only, I'm gonna do something I normally never do, I'm gonna write this post in Dutch. Sorry, sorry, sorry to all my foreign visitors, but I really want to make sure everyone who wants to enter, know what they have to do for this challenge.

And I have to be honest, it wasn't easy to find four stand alone books. I'm pretty sure at least 90% of the books I read are part of a series. But, my wishlist is só ridiculously long, of course I found a few stand alone books!
The cover of this book looks so cute and pretty that I don't even have to know what the book is about. I want it on my shelves.
This books sounds a teeny tiny bit like Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, and that book was seriously amazing, so I'm hoping this will be equally good. But it's written by Jennifer L. Armentrout, so I'm not worried.
This book sounds very intriguing. A woman comes across a book that's about her. She tries to find the writer but will she actually find him? And it's in Paris, the city of love. Should be the perfect setting.
