Review: Tall, Dork and Handsome by Remy Richard

She barters information about her accomplices (who are working on much more dangerous schemes than she is comfortable with) for her freedom. But after a few days with Holden, his sister and friends, she’s not sure that she wants her freedom anymore.

I got this book as a freebie on Amazon, and I thought it would be a nice change between a few more serious books. It was a very light and easy read. After the first 10% of the book I thought it was gonna be one of those books where they meet, have sex and instantly fall in love. All in a couple of days. Fortunately, it was more than a couple of days and they didn't fall in love instantly. They were attracted to each other obviously, but didn't act on it at first. 

I liked the story, Sabrina being a con artist who breaks into Holden's home and then gets kidnapped by Holden and his head of security, Sam. They promise her to not call the police if she tells them who hired her. She's a bit reluctant to give names at first, but after there is another break in, she finally opens up. After all, Sabrina's in this with them now, the burglars saw her face and think she changed sides. But has she?

Holden is a cute guy, kind of dorky (he can't stop working) but with a smoking hot body. How is that even possible if he works day and night? There's another thing that didn't make sense. In the beginning, Sabrina tells Holden everything she knows about him, including what she knows about his parents. And then later on she asks why Holden's mom wasn't around when he was a kid, and what happened to his dad. A sloppy mistake if you ask me, because Sabrina already told Holden that she knew that.

I know this book is about Holden and Sabrina, but I would've loved to read more about Sam and Holden's sister, Lila. But maybe they will be in a future book? I hope so. This book, Tall, Dork and Handsome, is getting 3 stars from me. If you want to relax and don't think too much, this is a fun read.

It's love at first sight, but there's a lot of inward and outward struggling going on, as well as sexual tension. So many problems to contend with, like Vanessa Whitehall who has loved Indigo since they were kids. Then there's his wealthy family complete with skeletons in every closet in their mansion.

I can sum this book up in one word: DRAMA! There is so much of it, that it gets a little annoying at one point. Head Over Wheels is a roller coaster of emotions. One moment Jewel is deliriously happy, then she's depressed, then she's mad and then she's happy again. Every little thing that happens upsets her. Of course I can understand that Vanessa pisses her off, but Jewel's thoughts and reactions were kind of extreme sometimes.

Indigo seemed like a great guy at first, but a someone who can't even send one text message during his work week because apparently he is too busy all of the time, pisses me off. Eventually you get an explanation about why he acts like that, which is actually really sad, but I'm not sure if that just makes everything okay.

Something I noticed about this book is that the writer keeps using the word groovy. Isn't that a word from the sixties and seventies or something? It felt kind of silly to me.

Overall, Head Over Heels is a nice story, but it didn't live up to my expectations. What I did love was the beautiful epilogue. Great ending of the book.

It's an okay story but nothing special. I feel like the book was too long, even though it only has 336 pages. There aren't that many exciting things happening. And it's crazy predictable.

The fact that Jane could only see the good in Madison and Jesse really annoyed me. How can someone be so dense?

I liked Scarlett the most in this book and I was definitely rooting for her and Liam. But with an ending like this, I can see a love triangle in the future for both Jane and Scarlett. That would be too much, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

I'm giving it 3 stars, because it's a cute story but not that great. Maybe it's more interesting for people who are a few years younger than me.

First of all, Samantha is a so shallow I wanted to slap her. She's one of the popular girls in high school. Kind of like the mean girls from the Lindsay Lohan movie. Her friends are the same, they have strict rules about clothes, how to behave when they're in school and they all pick on this one girl who is different, they call her psycho and make fun of her every time she walks by. To me it all seemed very cliche, but I've never gone to an American high school so maybe it really is like this there. 

At one point I was like, seriously? This is the book everyone is raving about? But, as I kept on reading, it got better. As Sam keeps living her last day over and over she starts to see things and people around her are different than she thought, and that in turn, makes her different too. Thank god!

I think this book is most suitable for high school kids. It might teach them some things about life and how to treat people around them. For me, it was an okay story but I really can't see why some people call this book the best YA they have ever read. 3 stars is the best I can do.

I'm always in for a nice contemporary romance. Especially one that takes place on a beautiful island. Add a sexy prince to the picture, and I'm happy. Except, the story wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped. 

First of all, for a big part of the book, the relationship between Helene and Darius is all too easy. They never fight and Helene is fine with everything. Even marrying Darius because she's pregnant. Now I don't know about all you ladies out there, but if a guy would ask me to marry him just because I was pregnant, I would punch him in the face. Marriage should be because of love, not necessity. I was annoyed with Helene because she accepted this all so easily. Luckily, she came around after awhile and decided she didn't want to marry just because of the baby. 

Maybe it's because of what I mentioned above, but I didn't really feel the chemistry between Helene and Darius. They liked each other but to me it felt like that was pretty much it. And as I have mentioned quite a few times, I love bad boys, so Darius was too good for me. Everything he did went according to the rules. 

Now, what I thought was cool, was the end of the book. The epilogue was really unexpected and I liked it very much! The Goddess is a light and okay story but I can't give it more than 3 stars.

I just finished the book, like, 5 minutes ago and my thoughts are still all over the place. I have so many things to say about this book, so I hope I will get them all out in the right way.

First of all, the story started kind of slow. It was only after I was about halfway through the book that it started getting more interesting and I really wanted to keep reading. Part of that was because of all the shallowness in the beginning of the book. I get that Tally was raised thinking she was ugly, but at some point it just became annoying. Basically, everyone is ugly before they have an operation when they turn sixteen, that makes them pretty and makes them want to party and have fun all the time. The perfect life for a teen right? But the thing is, all the people who are ugly, look like you and me. Normal people. But three hundred years in the future, the way we look now is considered ugly. Oh, and they think of us as Rusties. Also, their towns have these awesome names like: Uglyville, New Pretty Town, and Crumblyville (because when you're old you're crumbly, get it?). I mean seriously? Was Westerfeld out of inspiration or something? Maybe some people like it but to me it just sounds silly.

Also, I was a bit annoyed that some things aren't really explained to you at first. Like, what happens when you turn from a littlie (when you're a kid) to an ugly. You turn twelve and then all of a sudden you're not cute anymore? And where the hell are your parents when you're an ugly? I mean, where do they live? I didn't get the new pretty, middle pretty thing at first either, but some of my questions were answered eventually.

Anyway, it get's better once you get used to all that. To my surprise, the story got pretty good in the end and made me curious about the next book: Pretties. I hope it's not as slow as this one. I already have it on my kindle so I will probably read it soon. As for Uglies, because it got better eventually, I'm gonna give it 3 stars.
